“To initiate, maintain and support cooperative action for the improvement of library services.” Who could resist a mission statement like that? With our history and culture of library advocacy, certainly not Gale. That mission statement, by the way, belongs to the Chief Officers of State Library Agencies (COSLA).
Gale has just signed on as a diamond-level sponsor of COSLA as a symbol of our strong support for the ideals, activities, and member institutions of this important library coalition. “Working alongside state librarians and staff, we hope to continue to build relationships by better understanding statewide needs, gather feedback on products and services so that improvements can be introduced, and share expertise and resources to develop stronger state library systems,” said MaryEllin Santiago, Vice President, Sales—Consortia and Special Markets, for Gale, a part of Cengage Learning.
