A Statement from Gale Regarding MLA International Bibliography Moving to EBSCO as Sole Provider

1min read

Like many of you, Gale was informed today that beginning January 2019, MLA International Bibliography will be available exclusively through EBSCO. While we are surprised and disappointed that this new partnership between the MLA and EBSCO eliminates choice and flexibility for libraries, we remain committed to working with our customers to deliver the best possible experience. We are actively evaluating the impact of this news on our existing library partners and will do anything we can to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted access for end-users.

  1. This is very very bad news for the MLA as a whole. Financially, they will not survive this. This was extremely poor decision making by people at every level of the MLA, most notably, Terrence Callaghan, Director of Finance, and Barbara Chen, Director of Bibliographical Services. Wow. Just wow.
