Expanding Accessibility with New Translation Languages

According to theU.S. Census Bureau, 20 percent of people in the United States speak a language other than English at home.1That means one in five people at our schools, universities, and libraries around the nation may benefit from accessing content in a language other than English. And while many of these people speak Spanish, there’s a wide variety of languages spoken overall; nearly 23 million people in the United States speak a languageother than English or Spanishat home.2

New Text Translation Languages

At Gale,we’re committed to supporting all learners,这是我们已经更新到洛杉矶的一个原因nguage features with dozens of our products and digital resources. To expand accessibility, we’ve added document translation in Haitian Creole, Nepali, and Swahili.

In addition to these three new languages, users can translate text on demand into more than40 languageswithin the following products:

User Interface (UI) Translation Updates

We enhanced UI translation, helping learners identify relevant content and fostering digital literacy. As Gale introduces new products and product features, we also continue to extend our interface translation to cover these additions. Irish (Gaeilge) was recently added as a new interface translation option. Customers can set a default interface language for their resources throughGale Admin.
