Travel Began in the Library

When I was 5 years old, My Mother signed me up for a Library Card at the local branch of our Library system. At the time I though it was cool. It made me feel that I was part of a larger, older group of kids,…grade school kids. But I had no idea how the World would open up to me through books. I started to read in the first grade and by the time I was in the third grade, I was a voracious reader. My favorites were biographies and historical novels. I easily moved from one author to another and learned about American heroes, inventors, and explorers. I could talk to anybody about anything and that started me on a path that lead to my life today. Books are the best friends that anyone can have and I have leaned on them over the years…Hooray for the Library.
