你听说过吗?它的Autism Awareness Month– the Cairo Tower in Egypt, the Empire State Building in the US, City Hall in Tel Aviv, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, and many other buildings around the world were bathed in the color blue on April 2 to raise global awareness of Autism.

So what do you know about this disorder? Are you up on the latest medical developments? No? Then grab that mouse and start looking in our Gale products for the answers!

Here are a few bits to pique your interest:

  • 你知道,自闭症南北战争之前,在人们明显(但不能确诊为此类)?见2016Smithsonianmagazine in一般一个文件
  • 你可能听说过的动物行为学家和作家,寺格朗丹的,但你知道她的畜牧业广泛的影响?看到简历在上下文
  • From ourGale eBooks(GVRL)collection,自闭症的手册和广泛性发育障碍提供大量的权威信息
  • Not sure how to approach the topic with younger kids? Try ourKids InfoBitsarticle, “Autism Spectrum Disorder,” (Diseases and Conditions, Gale, 2016) – it offers clear facts at an appropriate reading and comprehension level.

As the CDC cites, 1 in 68 children are on the Autism spectrum so students in K-12 are necessarily becoming more familiar with autism, as they know classmates with the condition. So it makes sense to understand what it is and what challenges people on the spectrum face. Gale can help! Start getting educated today – on this and other groups with special needs – so we can foster awareness and inclusion inside (and outside of) our schools and communities.
