As a Customer Success Manager, I’m always eager to see what types of programing and promotions public libraries have going on. Summer reading is no exception!
Brentwood Public Library in Tennessee is offering ACT Boot Camps for teens this summer! The boot camp gives a jump starton preparations for the ACT with test taking strategies, as well as practicing approaches to different types of questions on each section. See the provided study materials. Additionally, the library also offer an ACT Writing Test Camp, Study Skill Class and PSAT Class.
If your library has test prep programing for teens, I’d recommend promoting theTesting & Reference Education Centeralong with it.This great database provides over 300 practice tests and courses, plus, dozens of eBooks containing valuable study material and practice tests.
New Orleans Public Libraryhas 17 programs scheduled through-out June and July for their2015 Adult Summer Reading Program. They started off with a kick-off party featuring a local jazz singer & story teller. The library’s goal is to bring adults back into the library. Programs are free and open to the adults, 18 and up. Adults are urged to register online or in person for the 2015 Adult Summer Reading Program and some patrons will receive a free tote bag for registering.
他们有一些很酷的活动计划。188金宝搏北京赛车我found particularly interesting was CSI night. Patrons will get a chance to tap into their inner CSI investigator and the parish (local) Coroner, Dr. Jeffrey Rouse will speak. When I spoke with the main library’s Public Programs Librarian, K. G. Wilkins, she stated that NOPL is “dedicated to FUN!”
The library also wants patrons tosubmit their own short storiesduring the 2015 Adult Summer Reading Program. Patrons are encouraged to stretch their imagination by using these ten words:Driven, Flawed, Struggle, Carnival, Irrefutably, Whirlwind, Outstanding, Storm, Superhero, and Picayune. Winners will be selected on originality, clever use of contest words, and relevance to the theme—Escape the Ordinary. Gift card prizes range from $20 to $100.
